LG annouces ICS update Schedule!

LG has revealed their Android update schedule for ICS porting.

Accordingly, The updates will start rolling out in two waves.
The first wave will begin in Q2, 2012 and it will cover the following handsets:
the LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse.

The second wave of updates will begin in Q3, 2012 and will cover the following handsets: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX.

More than 700000 Android devices activated daily!

According to a tweet by Google’s Android chief, Andy Rubin, Android is activating over 700,000 Android devices every day.

This means that more than 20 million devices per month are activated. Further, its stated that this count is only for new devices, not re-sold or refurbished devices. Now, this is an impressive count.

According to Andy Rubin's Google+ post,

For those wondering, we count each device only once (ie, we don’t count re-sold devices), and ‘activations’ means you go into a store, buy a device, put it on the network by subscribing to a wireless service.

Few weeks ago, Eric Shcmedit confirmed that more 500000 android devices are activated daily.

New Eco-Friendly Battery from Sony!

At the Eco-Products 2011 exhibition in Tokyo, Sony showed a new kind of Battery which works using Paper! Yes, you heard that right!

In the demo, they added some pieces of Card Board (As shown in the Photo) into a Bottle and made a small fan to rotate using the electricity generated from the Card board pieces! Magic!!

This Battery is powerful as current Chemical Batteries, but according to Sony, this is powerful enough to run a MP3 player.

Let's wait and see how this Eco-Friendly Battery works out..

Mozilla extends search partnership with Google

Mozilla today announced that it has extended the search partnership with Google for additional 3 years, which makes Google as the default search provider for Firefox.

The financial details of the agreement were not revealed yet.

The original deal between Mozilla and Google expired in November 2011

It should be noted that in October Mozilla launched Firefox with Bing, creating a speculation that it might switch to Bing as its search provider.

84% of Mozilla's 2010 revenue was generated by this Search agreement.

Samsung Electronics plan to provide the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for GALAXY devices. The platform update for GALAXY S II and GALAXY Note will start in the first quarter 2012, and other GALAXY devices will soon follow.The ICS-upgradable devices are the GALAXY S II, GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY Note, GALAXY R, GALAXY Tab 10.1, GALAXY Tab 8.9, GALAXY Tab 7.7, and GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus.

This maybe a disappointment for other mid-range Galaxy owners, developers are currently working in custom ROMs for mid-range Smartphones.

Lumia 800 has battery issues

Lumina 800 is a Smartphone from Nokia based on Windows Phone, but certain users reported about a battery issue.

Now Nokia's own test reveals a software bug which is "limiting the phone’s ability to access the full battery capacity".

According to Nokia, not all Lumia 800 phones are affected by this issue.

There is very easy way to check your unit.

First, fully charge your battery
Then dial ##634# to access the Service menu.
Go to Battery Status section

if your capacity is less than 1000mAh then your Lumia 800 has this problem in accessing the full battery capacity.

Samsung Galaxy Note comes in White!

Samsung Galaxy Note, the company's latest Smartphone from Galaxy line up with a huge 5.3" screen get a white dress!

Unfortunately, this White Galaxy Note is only available to Korean market at the moment.

This LTE-enabled version of the Smartphone, which has been on the Korean shelves for a while now will be offered in two color versions starting today.
The white version will be identical to its black one in terms of hardware and we hope that price tag will same as the black!

Facebook Timeline now for Everyone!

Facebook’s new look, first shown at a Facebook developers conference here in September, is available everywhere starting today.

Facebook’smembers can either wait for a notification to pop up on or go to Facebook.com/about/Timeline to get Timeline.

Users have seven days after switching to Timeline to remove embarrassing photos from your profile before Timeline becomes the default look on your profile page.

At the same time, the official Facebook blog announced that the new Timeline features would be coming to Facebook's mobile site, m.facebook.com as well as Android devices.

Firefox 9 is out now!

The final version of Mozilla Firefox 9 hit the net today.

Following the new rapid 6 week release cycle, Mozilla released it's newest browser Firefox 9.

Firefox 9 features a 30% performance improvement in Javascript rendering. Firefox also adds better support for Apple's latest desktop interface, Mac OS x Lion, including support for two-finger swipe gestures and a more Lion-like interface design.

Together with this Mozilla also released a new version for Android Mobile OS.
New for the mobile browser is tablet optimization for landscape and portrait orientation. Thumbnails now appear alongside the screen for each open tab, and swiping is supported. Users can also add site bookmarks to their Android home screen for app-like access.

As we all know, Google Chrome topped at 2nd place in browser market share last week pushing Firefox behind.
